The Northern Symposium is a one-day pest control conference held by the CIEH North East Region, which will take place on Thursday 15th May at the Marriott Hotel in Gateshead.
Presentations will include the following:
• Squirrels – The Protection of Red Squirrels
• Who’s the pest in the kitchen - Food Safety for Pest Control Operatives
• Pesticide Misuse and Abuse - The Wildlife Incident Investigation
Scheme
• Pest Control at Waste Facilities
• Disposal of Waste
• The Pest Management Industry – Where is it going in the 21st Century?
These presentations will be followed by an open discussion forum, giving delegates the opportunity to ask questions, exchange industry advice and express their opinions. Speakers include representatives from the NPTA, DEFRA, The Environment Agency and Killgerm Chemicals. The conference will start at 8.45am and finish around 4.30pm.

The Polish Pest Control Workshop will take place on the 7th May at the Holiday Inn Hotel, Warsaw. The workshop will focus on the correct use of rodenticides with regards to protecting wildlife in surrounding environments and also explain the changes that are likely to affect pest management legislation. This workshop will also celebrate the recent launch of Killgerm Polska and reveal how Killgerm Spain has helped develop the Spanish pest management industry.

The British Pig & Poultry Fair will be held
on Tuesday 13th and Wednesday 14th May 2008 at Stoneleigh Park,
Warwickshire and covers all aspects of pig and poultry production.
The fair provides a great opportunity for farmers to gain industry
knowledge and network with potential processors and retailers.
There will also be significant information available for farmers
wishing to progress and market their own produce.
